Saturday I had the pleasure of spending the day with Kathleen, Jamie and their families.
You see it was a very special day, after 11 years together they tied the knot.
I think the day was so special because these two have been together for many years and the families are already close. You could feel the love, I like that feeling.
The wedding was at the beautiful St. Augustine in Richmond.Then we went to Maryville's city park for a few pictures and off to Alexanders for a fabulous celebration.
A special thanks to the wedding party, for a huge wedding party I had no trouble wrangling them together for the pictures.

Marlins invitational 2012 cancer sucks

This weekend was jam packed full. Not a wedding no family portraits, I had the pleasure of photographing the Marlins swim team.
The Macomb Marlins is the swim team my daughter swims on. And this past Saturday and Sunday they were swimming against cancer. They were all wearing cancer sucks swim caps and looked FABULOUS. They even made the 10 o'clock news , thanks Fox 2.
They made a lot of money to donate and had a blast doing it.
Can I just say, MARLINS ROCK!

Friday the 13TH how will you look at it?

Many people are more worried today, being careful of what they do how they travel and money they spend. I'm not talking because of the economy, today is Friday the 13TH.I truly believe it's all in how you look at things.
I learned something last year at a conference I went to and worked.
444
Why does this matter? Well if you are going to believe in Friday the 13TH, you can believe in 444.
This year we will have three Friday the 13THs. So lets look at this differently.
1+3=4
that will make three 4s =444
444 is the sign of Angels.
Again it's all in how you look at it. I'm going to look at it as this is going to be a blessed year.

This weekend I had the pleasure of not only photographing but visiting with great friends.

The Hills and I have been friends for many years. They are one of those families that everyone wants to be like . They work hard, play hard, but mostly they LOVE. Anyone who is either a family member or friend to these wonderful people are truly blessed. I am one of those lucky people.

I am not saying extreme cuteness just because I love this family. Donna (one of the owners of ALWAYS SPECIAL LINENS) brought her grand babies with her and well you see if I was exaggerating.

A couple of Saturdays ago my Little Sister (in law) Tracy got married to her best friend Nate.
A lot of the Fisher family headed to South Carolina for the festivities. I was lucky enough to not only attend but shoot the Wedding .

This coming Sunday this cute little girlie is turning 3.
You can't tell in the pictures but all she wanted to do was , get out of the grass. She kept saying she was scratchy and itching her legs.

Beth-Ann and Mike

One week ago today Beth-Ann and Mike tied the knot.
They got married and had their reception at the beautiful Fore Lakes in Kimball Michigan.
This was the second time we lucked out with the weather.Just about one hour after the out door ceremony and formal pictures, it stormed.
When we meet for the engagement pictures it stormed about one minute after we finished.
I love the way they love each other and they are both very expressive . Not to mentioned they are both very easy on the eyes.
The entire day was a joy for me to capture. Great location, gorgeous couple, and fun family and friends .
I LOVE my job!

Amy and Chris are from Arizona. They both grew up in Michigan and came back for a small wedding with family and friends.
The wedding was at the Victoria wedding chapel in Waterford and the reception was at my house.
Did I forget to mention Chris is my nephew.

Yesterday I met one of the most beautiful little baby Boys I've ever met.
Dustin is 3 months old and came over for a few pictures. His Mommy Jenelle and I thought it would be cute to get some sleepy pictures as well ,two hours later we did.
I think it was worth the wait .
I haven't talked to Jenelle since the shoot but I'm pretty sure Dustin slept the whole ride home.

Sunday I had the pleasure of meeting the Macquarrie family Jennifer , Doug, and Kennedy. This beautiful family is in town from IL visiting their own families . I'm glad they had a chance to squeeze in a quick session. Kennedy is about to turn 1. This cute little girlie did not want to look at me, until they broke out the cake. YUM !
Jennifer said she was a mover and shaker and she wasn't joking. Watching her bounce around to the Elmo song brought back memories of my own little cutie.

Rochester Engagement

Yesterday I met Beth-Ann and Mike in Rochester for their engagement session. It wasn't that long ago I met them and already they have become one of my favorite couples. When you see the pictures you'll know why. Not only are they both very photogenic but the chemistry between them almost had my camera steaming. And it wasn't the humidity.
The grounds of the Royal Park Hotel are beautiful and we lucked out with the weather and the staff thanks Eric for all your help and our mini tour. It down poured rain about two minutes after we finished our session .
I had a hard time picking a sneak peak of just a few of their portraits I love them all.

So fun, can't wait for the Wedding.

Sam and Russ

Sam and Russ are about to become first time parents.
Estimated date of arrival is July 9TH.
It's hard to believe that Russ is going to be a Daddy I have known him and his family before he could even drive. He was joking about how the parents are so OLD SCHOOL and I was laughing until later that evening when I realized I'm old school too.

Yesterday I met the Barna family at Lexington Park. I love that park it's like being at two separate locations. We got some pictures in the park setting as well as the beach. This was my first trip to Lexington park this year, the water is still freezing.

Thursday I had the pleasure of meeting Robert Lewis (Bob) of Wood'n Decoys and photographing his hand carved Decoys.
It was a first for me as I usually photograph people. Bob does incredible work.I learned a lot from Bob about how he creates such beautiful pieces. Some of the Decoys can take 60 plus hours to create.Truly a labor of love.

Today's Friday favorite actually has two things I love . The first my Daughter, second soft golden light .My Daughter is one of those people that is game for almost anything. Last week I missed posting a FF . That's because I was at one of my Families favorite places in Michigan, Reed Ranch in Fairview. Reed Ranch is very beautiful and peaceful .One would think you should be well rested when returning from a visit there. My family however refuse to just relax , I always wake early to catch the light and the family likes to stay up late to go shining for animals and night fish. I somehow always return exhausted.

Dyan and Will's Rockin Wedding

CONGRATS ! Dyan and Will are married.
Everything about this wedding was FABULOUS.The day started at their house with Dyan and the girls getting hair and makeup done.Dyan looked beautiful with her vintage glam look.Perfect for a Rock and Roll wedding. From there it was off to the Church where I met up with the Guys. Will and the boys of course are uber cool with their hats and van sneakers. Renaissance Unity is a great venue to shoot at .From there the wedding party got on the tour bus to party for a while with the last stop being at the great Lakeland manor .To enter the wedding all guests were issued a back stage pass .This wedding was truly an EPIC event that no one will soon forget.

Wednesday I had the pleasure of photographing Elizabeth she is about to become a Mother for the first time. I knew Elizabeth before she was old enough to drive . To see her graduate school get married and now having a family, I feel very blessed to have shared in so many happy memories.Her Mother Donna is one of my dearest friends and is very excited to be a Grandma .
To make the day even better Elizabeth's sister in law is due in July so we photographed two bellies for the price of one .Even Elizabeth's Hubby got in on the action.
Samantha isn't that big yet so she will be back in June for her own session .
We did a few top secret pictures that involved Lego's, maybe I'll post some after the baby is born.

January was a busy month. I did a lot of updates on the web site. Had several customer shoots and went to Vegas to shoot a conference.

In Vegas I was working for Kim Seer .Thriving in a new world 2012 and beyond.

Happy New Year ! I have had the best year. I can't thank my family , friends, or clients enough .You have all helped in one way or another to help me do what I love the most . I photographed more Weddings and I think more Family portraits this year then ever before. I found some new fun locations and had several repeat customers. I attended a workshop with 5 of the Best Wedding Photographers in the country and learned more this year about myself then I thought I could. So again I say Thank YOU ! This year I plan to learn even more and meet more FABULOUS people. I'm starting this year with a new look and logo, Thanks Will. Megan and Dustin

This past Saturday I had the pleasure of traveling to Ohio for the Wedding of Megan and Dustin.

This couple is not only deeply loved by one another but the whole community. The church had standing room only.Besides a Christmas eve I can't tell you the last time I've seen a church fill up that much.

The ceremony took place at the Trinity United Methodist Church. And the reception took place at the local Knights of Columbus.

To many fun things to mention them all. So here are just a few fun facts from the Wedding.

The flower girl dropped her petals just as she was told, then the ring bearer picked them all up as he followed her.

The cake knife not only has Megan an Dustin's names on it but also her sister and brother in law and her parents.Love that tradition.

Megan's Dad cried during their dance (not surprised).

But the best was when Pastor David said Dustin's brothers name Sean instead of Dustin.

And he has known both of them for many many years.

Sorry Pastor David it was to good not to share.

This was a Wedding I will not soon forget.

Monday and Tuesday I had a blast helping my good friends decorate Pennas on Van Dyke. I love Christmas decorations and the last couple of years Jerry from Venetian flowers and Donna from Always Special Linens have invited me to help out.

Both trees and banisters came out beautiful but I think my favorite is the Angel tree.

If you are lucky enough to attend a party at Pennas this holiday season, think of us when you admire the decorations.

Meet Barb and John now known as The Haulers.

We were going to have the Wedding at Jefferson Beach Marina and go for a cruise on a Yacht down the Detroit River; Mother nature had different plans. So the Wedding moved to the reception sight . Then we all jumped into the limos and headed to the Andiamos down town for a few more pictures.

Everything worked out beautifully and the Wedding and reception were a huge success.

It's that time of year again. The Portraits of Love campaign is starting on September 2ND. Portraits of love is a program that delivers portraits of loved ones to our troops serving for us over seas. As a photographer I think it's the least I can do to show my appreciation for those fighting for my freedom. If you have a loved one serving over seas all you have to do is call me. We will set up a appointment; I take your portraits upload them to the web site and give you a pass word. Then you pick your favorite and a 5 x 7 portrait will be sent to your loved one. That's it. Meet Angela .I have known Angela for about 12 years now. I've seen her graduate high school,college,get married, trash a dress and now she is getting ready to have a baby. Saturday I had the pleasure of photographing Brittany and Victors wedding. I have known Brittany's family for about 13 years now. Her mother Ovida is part owner of Always Special Linens located on 10 Mile in Eastpointe .If you ever need linen give them a call .

The ceremony was held at St.Mary Mystical Rose Catholic Parish in Armada

The reception was held at the beautiful Mirage Elegant Banquets on 18 mile in Clinton Township. If your looking to hold an event call and ask for Fred he'll take care of you. And finally the flowers from Venetian , Jerry is one of the best , never disappoints.

What will you do with your Wedding Dress after the big day?

This is a question more and more Photographers are asking Brides.I have to admit I've been asking more then not lately. In fact Trash the Dress sessions are quickly becoming my favorite type of photo shoot . In 2001 John Michael Cooper had been credited with starting the now fast growing trend . Some say it started much earlier in Europe as a sign of the Bride never needing the Dress again and destroying it.What ever the case it is here and I think will be for some time. Most Brides don't truly want to trash or destroy their dress, but many do want to have a fun, fresh, and usually a little sexy photo shoot with it .Some want the experience but don't want to chance ruining the "real" dress. I have had Brides wear dresses bought at the thrift store.I also have two dresses in the studio that have been trashed and washed waiting to be trashed again.Yes, I put Wedding dresses in the washing machine. Nobody said you had to trash a Wedding dress. How many of you Ladies out there have a brides maid gown or two you will never wear again? I know what you can do with it. Grandmas 89TH Birthday

After 89 years I thought this Lady deserves her own post. Meet Grandma Fisher. She is one of the funniest ,strongest women I know. She won't smile for a picture so, you have to make her tell old stories. Then everyone is laughing and smiling. She gave birth to 9 children and has 14 grandchildren ,10 great grad babies and, one more on the way. She talks on cell phones and even skypes with family out of town. I spent all day photographing these incredible kids. The Macomb Marlins hosted a swim meet today. I was allowed to go on deck and take pictures. Yeah for me! Ages ranging from 6 to 18 . I'm so proud of all of them. My daughter is 9 and swam in 4 events today. Here is just a sneak peak of a few. I will post them all in a gallery in a day or so.

Happy New Year ! I would like to thank each and every person I was able to meet and photograph in 2009. You helped me make this year very special.I have meet several new people and made some very good friends. Photography is an ever changing profession.I am now and have been 100% digital for the last two years. There are always new products to learn and try out .New techniques and locations.So many new things I could never have done with my film cameras. And I have some of the bravest clients, a couple of them even jumped in a lake for me.I look forward to trying even more things in the new year.
